Over £40,000 refunded by Water Company to High School/College for leakage.
Our school had recently been experiencing extremely high water consumption and related charges. Costs kept rising and concerned that this pattern may continue at our expense, we researched the market for outside help.
We were recommended to a company called Focus Green and heard that they are water cost reduction specialists helping many schools, colleges and universities across the UK obtain refunds and reduce ongoing water and sewerage costs. Immediately after instructing Focus Green to investigate our situation they were proactive in the collection of water billing, data and meter readings and soon after identified a leak near our boiler house. Focus Green calculated our losses which had started back in 2008 and had escalated into larger losses slowly over the years until identified by Focus Green in 2011.
The leak was fixed and Focus Green submitted a written application to United Utilities for a refund back to 2008 under the current statute of limitation. We have recently received a cheque for £34,029.19 and an outstanding invoice paid at source for £6,040.09 making a total refund of £40,069.28.
