I can confirm that Motorpoint appointed WMS UK to perform an appraisal of the water and sewage charges billed to 21 Motorpoint sites located throughout the UK with a view to recovering any overpayments and to reset charges going forward.
Various issues were identified and rebates/savings with a six-figure value were extracted from the various water companies. Some of the amounts recovered were small in comparison to others, but WMS gave equal importance to each one irrespective of the value at stake to deliver the right outcome for us.
Many sites were found to be charged correctly and whilst there was no financial benefit to Motorpoint, there is a value to the business by having the assurance and confidence in the amounts being paid.
WMS UK worked for us on a contingent basis, so we did not incur any fees or costs where no element of overcharging was identified.
Overall, WMS UK added an extra level of scrutiny to our own in-house processes, and Motorpoint has certainly benefited from their expertise.
