We were approached by Water Management Solutions (WMS) to carry out a water audit on a "no win, no fee" basis. As we were, aware WMS were working with many of the schools in the area we decided to go ahead.
Review found increasing water consumption, and site investigations identified the probable cause as a leak at the water meter, the leak was found to be on the Northumbria Water infrastructure. A full allowance against water and sewerage costs were sought these allowances totalled over 17k.
In addition to the water leak, WMS found historic overcharging on the surface water and highway drainage charges going back to 2011 when this was found to be incorrect the charges were removed.
The school benefited from rebates totalling over 45k more importantly the school will be saving more than 17k each year, which is a great help in these economic conditions.
